Allyn WA, Food Options

In the small and quaint town in Allyn, there are very few options for dining out. That being said, there are still great options. One of our favorite Mexican restaurants is 2 Margaritas Family Restaurant. Their portions are huge. No seriously. Be prepared to bring home leftovers and ample refrigerator space. The platters they serve their food on is what I serve for holiday gatherings. I digress… once seated you will be served fresh thin and crisp tortilla chips alongside 3 dips: salsa, refried beans, and what I can only believe as mushroom ceviche. It is so delicious that I can live off that mushroom ceviche. It’s absolutely kid friendly and adult friendly in that their margaritas are so large it could also serve as a home for a beta fish. They open everyday at 11 am.

The other very popular place is The Boathouse Restaurant and Bar. It’s a very large restaurant with a large dining area, bar area, and patio with the view of the water. When we first discovered this place we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was great with their burgers, pizzas, and salads. Also wonderfully kid friendly with their huge patio space for kids to run around while they wait for their food. It’s just a really awesome place in the summer. Nothing is better than the warm sun, view of the water, delicious burger, and a cold pint of beer. They are open everyday except Mondays and opens at 11 am.

The final place that I’d highly recommend is Big Bubbas Burgers. With a name like that and their roadside window only order and pick up, it has got to be good, right? It is! I love this place and I love that it is in this tiny charming Allyn town. They are nothing fancy but everything you’d need on the road in Allyn or the perfect place to get burgers before taking the kayaks out on the water. There is a variety of burgers but I always go with the classic cheeseburger. French fries and onion rings portions are really large (Amen!) and it’s absolutely necessary when devouring a messy burger on the side of the road. Also, you must get their fry sauce. I cannot stress this enough. If you do not get the fry sauce, god have mercy on your soul. It’s an additional charge (50 cents?) but it’s totally a part of the experience.
